This is a real tough one. I think that they're all great players. Vai and Satch put probably the most noticable emotion into their music. Not that the others don't, but songs such as For The Love of God and Sisters by Vai.... hard to compare to something like Blitzkrieg or No Boundaries. I really admire Yngwie's playing abilities but I strongly frown upon his attitude and ego. MAB is an awesome player and he's really cool to listen to but he's a bit of a robot when you're watching him. Petrucci is a great player although before I really knew his better work I spat on him. And Herman Li is one of the fastest and most unique sounding guitarists I've ever heard. But I'm gonna go with Steve Vai because I'm most familiar with his music and I can always put in a CD of his and listen through the whole thing without skipping certain songs because they bore me.
